How We Protect You

We value the trust you place in us.

Banking with First Bank also means that you trust us with your money and we take that seriously. First Bank applies a layered approach to help protect your accounts and your identity.

.Bank Domain Name

Only verified members of the global banking community are eligible to register .Bank domain names. For banks, it includes charter and supervision verification with First Bank’s regulatory agency, which should drastically decrease the possibility of website spoofing.

As a verified domain, exclusively for the banking community, .Bank is a more secure space for online communication. A web or email address ending in .Bank quickly and easily confirms that you are communicating with a legitimate institution, and not a phisher or a spoofed site. A .Bank domain is a visual cue anyone can look for and recognize, an online stamp of trust that gives you confidence in your communication activities, and help protect your sensitive information from bad actors collecting data for breaches, financial fraud and identity theft.

Your Security at Account Opening

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means to you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.

In some cases, identification will be requested for accounts opened with us prior to the effective date of the customer identification requirements. In all cases, the protection and confidentiality of our customer’s identity is our pledge to you.

Online Banking Security

At First Bank, we’ve employed a variety of tools and processes to help protect your sensitive information when you are using our Online Banking & BillPay services.

Our online banking services include multiple levels of firewalls and intrusion detection and prevention systems, and we conduct ongoing penetration testing to ensure these systems are effective. In addition to these precautions, our system is constantly monitored for suspicious or unusual activities.

We utilize multi-factor authentication, as well as, session timeout after a period of inactivity, and account lockout if a password is entered incorrectly three times.

Your security is our priority. If you have questions about your online banking security with us, please visit or call your nearest branch or call 1-800-538-3979.

When you apply for a product or service or contact us online, we will retain your e-mail address to facilitate communication, provide account information or complete a service you have requested. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for information about how we maintain and use information about you, including your e-mail address.
